Thousands of people are expected to line the streets along Malabar Road in Palm Bay as the 23rd Annual Puerto Rican Day gets underway.
Palm Bay police will close off a portion of the east-west roadway just before 2 p.m. Parade participants are expected to line up on Eldron Boulevard. The route will then head west on Malabar Road, ending with a free festival featuring, food, music, and games in front of Palm Bay City Hall.

The parade, which reflects on the U.S. territory’s cultural and economic impact, is one of the largest Puerto Rican Day parades in Florida.
