Bomb squad called to Palm Bay hospice for suspicious object; no hazards found - Florida Today

A hospice security guard discovered a mason jar-sized object wrapped in electrical tape that contained an unknown liquid — summoning the bomb squad, Palm Bay Police Lt. Mike Smith said.

The suspicious object was discovered late Friday afternoon lying amid vegetation a few feet into a wooded area near William Childs Hospice House, just north of Palm Bay Hospital.

The Brevard County Sheriff's Office bomb squad deployed a robot.

Officials determined the jelly-like substance inside the container was not hazardous, and the object was disposed of. No buildings or people were threatened, Smith said.
