There is a heavy police presence near an apartment complex in Palm Desert.

Riverside County Sheriff's units are in the area of Country Club Drive and Harris Lane. News Channel 3's Jake Ingrassia is at the scene. He says additional units have arrived at the scene, including a SWAT team, and are surrounding the apartment.

Some residents of the Desert Oasis Apartments said they are unable to enter their apartments, those inside say they have been evacuated.
